Paul is one of New Zealand's leading marine artists and retired to the Nelson area in 2019. Originating from Dartmouth in Devon he has lived in the UK, Ireland and now New Zealand since 1995.

 

In his younger years Paul sailed in the Merchant Navy for ten years and also sailed on varied vessels since. He has an affinity with the sea enabling him to portray vessels in realistic settings with accuracy and atmosphere.

 

A self taught artist working predominately in oils, Paul’s marine paintings have been sought worldwide. He is an exhibiting member of the ASMA (Australian Society of Marine Artists) and the NZAFA (New Zealand Academy of Fine Arts).

 

Paul receives private commissions and exhibits in select galleries in New Zealand and in Sausalito in California. His nautical paintings and illustrations have featured in numerous books and magazines.
