to promote and encourage the cultivation and production of work in the visual arts

I graduated from Ilam Art School at The University of Canterbury in 1999 with Bachelor of Fine Arts. I majored in Photography, but always loved and continued painting.

I have 3 school aged children, and we walk to and from school most days. I am constantly inspired by the landscape surrounding Nelson and I was always seeing scenes I wanted to paint.

In late 2020 I started up an Instagram page, with the idea of painting places people might be missing during all the Covid lockdowns. Through this I got quite a few commissions, my largest so far was for Tides Hotel Bar and Eatery with my work currently being displayed in the restaurant.

 

I then joined the Nelson Suter Art Society, who accepted a piece of my work which subsequently SOLD at the 2021 Autumn Exhibition. I have since had a few more works exhibited with the NSAS and in September 2022 was included in NEW LIGHT, a new members joint exhibition.

 

More recently, in the NSAS 2023 Autumn Exhibition I was thrilled to receive the PEOPLES CHOICE. (image supplied)
