Debra is a photographer and Japanese calligrapher who now calls Nelson home after 16 years of travelling with her husband Peter to New Zealand for annual holidays.

 

After 25 years in the corporate world, Debra is deliciously retired, and thoroughly enjoying being immersed in her two favourite art forms.

 

Debra grew up in a bi-racial, bi-lingual home with a Japanese mother and an American father. Her mother brought a rich, cultural diversity to family life, and her father, a keen photographer, passed this interest on to his daughter. Both influence the way Debra approaches her art.
